Hawaii '99

Four Seasons - Kona, Hawaii

...............

In February, 1999, Carrie went to Hawaii
courtesy of Novell, being the star performer that
she is.  She was kind enough to allow Bill to join her.
They spent the 1st week in Kona at the
Four Seasons (where Carrie agreed, on Valentine's
Day, to be Bill's wife).  They then moved over to Maui
for another week before coming back to the real world.

Here are some memories of that trip.

The Four Seasons Lagoon

Checking out the dolphins!

Getting ready for Kilauea...

The Four Seasons has
their own private lagoon,
filled with fish..and COLD.

Carrie on the bow off of
Kona, watching spinner
dolphins.

Getting ready to board
a copter to fly over Kilauea,
a VERY active volcano on
the big island of Hawaii.

Kilauea Pu'u O'o Vent

A lava tube reaches the sea

How'd you like to fall into this?

The main vent, called
Kilauea Pu'u O'o Vent.

The main lava tube hits
the sea, creating quite
the mess.

A view into the slightly warm
area of a lava tube.

kA bit of green surrounded by desolation.

A Slightly less destructive view.

Protecting my fair maiden

What happens when lava
is NOT in a tube.
There ARE other things
on the big island besides
volcanos, though....
Valentine's Day in Kona...
a new sword, a new ring,
a new life.
